THE SACRED HEART COLLEGE

This institution was established in 1895 by Jesuits for the training of their new recruits and located at Shembaganur, just 5 kms before Kodaikanal town. By 1970 the institute had handled close to 10,000 inmates and has become the byword of excellence: scholarship, researches especially in natural history, aesthetic gardens, producer of the best vegetables, fruits, dairy products and honey in the region. The campus is spread across 10-hectare of rich vegetation (with the Orchidarium, Fernery, Arboretum and gardens, to mention only the outdoor riches) and natural history.
